King and Queen visit Library

We recently visited Durham as King Henry and Anne Boleyn to promote World Book Night and in particular historical novels.

We met some lovely people from places as close as Langley Moor and as far away as Hackney in London.  We enjoyed chatting to everyone , particularly the Junior members of the library who are studying ‘The Tudors’ at school.  We enjoyed talking to them and answering their questions about the life of the King Henry VIII and Queen Anne.

A lovely little girl called Ellen told me she had even been to a special party dressed as her favourite character ‘Anne Boleyn’ with a balloon head under her arm – very ingenious!

We were then presented with beautiful pictures our ourselves in costumes – Henry VIII was even awarded a handmade silver crown which he wore to show he was the King.  We all enjoyed a wonderful afternoon.

  1. I love your lovely gowns, I have dressed up as our favourite heroine, Anne Boleyn, She was my no1 – wife of the great King!!!

I have worn one of these beautiful gowns – it makes you feel so elegant and also graceful – you feel her soul in you.

You look so nice in that blue gown – I hope the King loves you in it, I have seen the photos of you both at the Durham Library. Would love to show you pictures of me on your e-mail.
    Best wishes
Sonia ( other Anne Boleyn fan)

That is the correct weblog for anybody who needs to search out Tudor topics. You understand a lot. Great stuff, simply great!
