During the ‘Fashion from the Past Weekend ‘ we presented two Period Fashion Shows on the 6th and two shows on the 7th August at Belsay Hall in Northumberland.
Although the rain was torrential on the Saturday and only slightly better on the Sunday we were very pleased that we were full to capacity with no standing room available for any of our shows.
We presented our period costumes in the stunning library accompanied by beautiful historical music – Belsay proved to be a wonderful setting for my gowns.
We met a lot of old friends and made quite a few new ones – I am very pleased that such a large number of people are so interested in history and costume in particular.I really enjoyed talking to everyone one after the show about the design and construction of my costumes – I must say I thoroughly enjoyed the whole weekend.
I would also like to thank Jon and all the staff at Belsay for their courtesy and hospitality during the past two weeks – they were absolutely wonderful.We would be very happy to present a show/display or talk for them in the future. I have included a few pictures from the event . I will update this post with photographs of the rest of the costumes worn at the show soon as they are available.
