Last Monday 14th June the sun shone down on the beautiful gardens at Crook Hall in Durham. My husband I spent the afternoon enjoying the idyllic English theme gardens. My husband was dressed as King Henry VIII in a gold and burgundy robe. I appeared in an orange silk Tudor gown embellished with gold.
The stunning backdrop of the mediaeval hall provided the perfect setting for our costumes – it was like being transported right back in time.
We will be appearing at Crook in costume next Sunday 20th June and again the following Sunday 27th June. Next Sunday I will be wearing a Blue Peacock Silk Elizabethan Gown worn with a partlet and the following week I will become ‘Anne Boleyn’. My ‘Anne’ gown is made of dark blue silk embellished with gold and pearls and worn with a French Hood. A gown fit for a Queen!

I think your costumes look great in a historical setting – thank you for sharing them!
A super article – I loved reading it – thank you for the post!!
