<p><span style="font-size: small;"><strong>I enjoyed presenting a talk about the design and construction of my costumes for the Durham Guild of Spinners Weavers and Dyers.</strong></span></p>
<p>I was dressed as Anne Boleyn in my blue silk gown with French Hood – my husband wore his ornate Henry VIII costume and received rapturous applause.</p>
<p>A display of mannequins accompanied the talk.</p>
<p>Costumes included in the display were</p>
<ul>
<li>My Pink Silk French Gown and elaborate feathered mask from the film ‘ La Reine Margot’.</li>
<li>An Elizabethan Comfort Gown and a Silk Kirtle inspired by clothes worn by Mary Queen of Scots for her execution at Fotheringay Castle.</li>
<li>Period underwear consisting of an Elizabethan Corset, Farthingale and Bumroll.</li>
<li>My new Elizabeth I Gold silk Gown with elaborate gold ruff and hanging sleeves.<a href="http://www.tudortalkandcatwalk.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/Elizabeth-I-Gown-at-Durham-Guild.jpg"><img decoding="async" class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-1286" title="Elizabeth I Gown at Durham Guild" src="http://www.tudortalkandcatwalk.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/Elizabeth-I-Gown-at-Durham-Guild-153x300.jpg" alt="" width="153" height="300" srcset="https://www.tudortalkandcatwalk.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/Elizabeth-I-Gown-at-Durham-Guild-153x300.jpg 153w, https://www.tudortalkandcatwalk.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/Elizabeth-I-Gown-at-Durham-Guild-76x150.jpg 76w, https://www.tudortalkandcatwalk.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/Elizabeth-I-Gown-at-Durham-Guild.jpg 461w" sizes="(max-width: 153px) 100vw, 153px" /></a></li>
</ul>
<p>After the talk we had an interesting informal question and answer session to share ideas.</p>
<p>I really enjoyed giving the talk &#8211; the members of the guild were both friendly and welcoming.</p>
<p>I would like to say I am very grateful for all their help and support in setting up the display.</p>
<p>Thank you</p>
