I will talk about both the inspiration for my costumes and their design and construction. As part of the event is a stunning display of four 16th Century inspired costumes on mannequins, they will include a Mary Queen of Scots Execution Gown, an ornate Blue Silk Dress for Anne Boleyn, a Silver Silk Gown for Jane Seymour and a lavish Pink Jewelled Costume for Catherine Howard.

There will also be a personal appearances by King Henry VIII in full regalia and Queen Elizabeth I wearing a fabulous gold silk Gown with ornate jewelled ruff. After my talk I will be happy to answer any questions about my work.

Also included the same evening is a lecture by the historical novelist Tracy Borman.

The festival will take place over two weeks – it will suit a variety of tastes  – highlights include Joe Abercrombie, north east historical fiction author Janet MacLeod Trotter, Wendy Robertson, Andy Briggs and a Bollywood event for the younger audience.

There are also writing workshops and a spectacular performance to close the festival.
