Hi Zona

Henry VIII is wearing a ‘Chain of State’ or ‘Collar of Office’ – it was a sign of his rank and majesty. The chain was presented to ministers and courtiers and came to represent a symbol of office by the time of Elizabeth I. Henry can be seen wearing it in portraits of him by Hans Holbein.
