Today I visited the new Stockton Library – it is due to reopen shortly after a wonderful refurbishment.
A ‘Tudor Themed Day’ is to celebrate the event – Phillipa Gregory the famous novelist is to officiate. Phillipa wrote the famous novel ‘The Other Boleyn Girl’. It has recently been filmed as a major movie starring Natalie Portman as Anne Boleyn and Scarlett Johanssen as her sister Mary, Eric Bana played King Henry VIII.
Today I was welcomed by Claire and other members of staff at the library to observe the buildings progress and help plan the evening’s event.
I wore something different to view the building although my outfit wasn’t as beautiful as some I have worn in the past it was a first for me!
The new library is a beautiful spacious building perfect for a Period Fashion Show. The main room has very large windows to let in natural light and will have modern yet comfortable furnishings.
My Show will present a number of 16th Century inspired costumes, these include Anne Boleyn, Henry VIII, Queen Elizabeth I and Mary Queen of Scots – a talk about each costume and beautiful period music is to accompany each outfit.
It is set to be a splendid occasion – drinks and white wine are to be served during the evening to celebrate.
My Show is will be presented on Monday 14th November 2011 at 7pm.
My Show is the first event to be held during the evening in the new hall and it promises to be a fantastic evening – we are all very excited – so don’t miss it!
