A Tudor Conference Symposium took place recently at Northumbria University.
Confirmed Speakers included Adam Hansen (Northumbria University), Mike Pincombe (Newcastle University),Cathy Shrank (University of Sheffield), Lisa Hopkins (Sheffield Hallam University).
Topics included
– Staging the classical, medieval, and Tudor past in Elizabethan England
– The publication and transformation of medieval literature in sixteenth-century England
– Tudor plays in performance from the death of Elizabeth to the present
– Cinema, television, opera, pop music, and other versions of Tudor texts
I provided a two mannequins dressed in full regalia – King Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn.
My costumes were very well received – Professor Fred Schurink at Northumbria University who hosted the event stated ‘ they added atmosphere and drama to the day’.
The marketing manager at Northumbria University said ‘ thank you for bringing your costumes in today, it made the area look amazing and captured so many people’s attention’
I am so pleased that my costumes added so much to the event.
