Waterloo Bicentenary

Excellent news – I have been booked by the Royal Armouries to present my new Regency Talks as part of their Waterloo Commemorations in 2015.

“Enter the World of Jane Austen– A Regency Costume Talk with Display – A very interesting, lively, humorous and informative lecture about the design and construction of my gowns – integral to the event is a display of costumes. Included are a morning dress, underwear, an afternoon outfit fit for Jane Austen herself and an evening gown which would be worn around the time of the Battle of Waterloo.

The events of 1815 were momentous both on and off the battlefield. It was a historical watershed which brought more than 22 years of conflict in Europe to a definitive close – it also affected many thousands of lives for much of the Nineteenth Century and beyond.

It involved many nations and heralded over 50 years of peace and stability. The battle was the culmination of a long campaign, fought in Spain and Portugal, by the Duke of Wellington and his allied armies.

We will be presenting our Regency Talks on Monday 25th May 2015 and Friday 29th May 2015. I am so pleased that my lectures are to be included as part of the Bicentenary of this very famous event.

I hope you will join us as the Royal Armouries is an excellent venue – I am really looking forward to it!
